I was wondering do you tortoise and turtle keepers often have a scale to keep track of the weights of their adult animals? Whenever I take my turtle and tortoise into the vet they always get Wade so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a scale at home so I could keep track myself between visits. What do you think?

I have a scale for my tortoises. It is more useful for little ones than adults. Probably not necessary but it allows me to compulsively weigh the babies too often and fret over their lack of growth.

I purchased a food scale to weigh my babies, just to make sure they are gaining or maintaining their weights. With our shelled babies, it's sometimes hard to know when they are ill, and a scale, to me, is just one more tool to ensure they are healthy.
