Hello, all!
I had an idea for my Russian tortoise, Ollivander. I'm soon going to be moving to a larger home, and will have room for a larger enclosure for him. Something I had in mind was to build something that has a removable front wall, and a ramp in and out, so that I can leave it open when I'm home. I like the idea of letting him roam freely.
The habitat itself would of course have heating, on a lampstand. Would I need other "stations" for him to warm up at throughout my apartment, or would just the one be sufficient for him to return to? The apartment would be roughly 800 sq ft.
Secondly, I have a cat. While I would not let him roam freely without me being there, would it be OK for him and the cat to share a space when I am? I supervise his free-roam time right now, and she's actually a little scared of him and leaves him alone. She's very gentle around all of my other animals.
Thoughts?
