Hello everyone,
Has anyone experimented with whether or not to loosely covering individual clutch hatching trays? My incubator, which I made from a new drink cooler keeps the interior at perfect temp and humidity for incubating types of redfoot eggs.
Is there any benefit to loosely covering trays( other then no draft on eggs from circulation fan) which barely moves air? Thanks for all opinions!! Frank

Hey Frank I'm Lexi,
I am incubating eggs as well. I made a homemade incubator in my dresser lol. Sounds odd but it works great keeps them at steady temps and humidity. Do you mean covering them with dirt or like a cover to the container? At first I had my covered in dirt and u couldn't tell if they went bad until there was mold everywhere from the bad ones leaking. And then I tried with a container cover and it seemed to dry the eggs out a bit. Not sure if that helped any lol good luck I hope an expert can pop on and help you
