I have the mini zoo med deep dome and mini dome fixtures. The zoo med basking bulb is a 75w and it's too hot for my hermann's (110 degrees). Can I use a normal bulb in the fixture? I know it says use "Type R lamps" but would it be okay? Or do I need to buy the 50 watt bulb?

I did a lot of searching on the forum, and I couldn't really find a direct answer, hmmmm.

I put an incandescent in and turned it on and it blew instantly. But my dad said the bulb was probably old, so we tried another and it works! Will it be fine?

What wattage is the fixture rated for? As long as you are under that you should be fine.

Okay, the fixture's wattage rating is 100 watts or smaller. I'm using a 60 watt, so I'm in the clear.
