In Memory of Dixie.....Pic Heavy

Dixie was so very special to me....and I am completely devastated by the loss.

But to help my daughters and I, we wanted to do a thread to share the memories of her.

When we first got her.

His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei admiring and discussing the tortoises.

She would always have a 'nip' at anything purple or red.

Her favourite spot to sit and enjoy the heat.

We even loved watching her grow.

Her favourite food.... she loved Hibiscus SSSSOOOO much.

Always curious.

No one can say you didn't do everything possible, you were VERY dedicated to her care and by the time you found that right vet, it may have already been too late, which was in no way your fault. I hope you can eventually share your wonderful home with another deserving tortoise soon

Thank you for your beautiful words.... I have been feeling a little guilty thinking that there might have been more I could have done. She was such a big part of our family. My daughters (6yrs & 10 yrs) want us to have a funeral this afternoon and have both decided on some words to say goodbye.... i think it is a great way of having closure and I am glad they are taking the lead on it, cos I am still very upset.

As for finding another, I am not sure when we will find another, but will be more than happy to have another one to love just as much.
