Alright, so next month I am moving to France to live there, I have a big house with great garden. I am currently living in Florida with my two sulcata tortoises and I would like to know how and what do I need to move them with me. Any websites or advices from members will be very appreciated.

Because tortoises are listed in CITES Appendix II, I would call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and whomever the CITES authority is in France to ask them what you'd need to do to export the tortoise from the U.S. and import it into France. Here is the webpage with information on who the CITES authorities are in France: https://cites.org/eng/cms/index.php/component/cp/country/FR

Also, If I were you, I'd plan to place your tortoises with someone who you trust- I doubt you'll be able to get this paperwork all figured out and approved in 1-2 months, but maybe you can. Definitely start calling on Monday... It's possible that the tortoises don't have to be permitted under CITES since they are animals you own. Here's another good link from the US Fish and Wildlife Service about CITES: https://www.fws.gov/international/p...rtle-exports-and-federal-trade-regulation.pdf

Your best bet would be to hire an animal broker who regularly moves exotic animals internationally. They know the system and often have contacts that can help move things along.

What kind of winters will you have where you are moving to?
