Hi. My name is Sandy. I have owned an adult male Egyptian Tortoise for over five years. I am always looking for more information on how to provide the essential microclimates important to good health, and what foods are best. I grow a lot of plants in my garden for the tortoise in the summer, but my Mid-Atlantic home base makes me dependent on store bought veggies in the winter.
I also have been rehabbing Eastern Box Turtles for many years, and working on programs to conserve wild population. I am on the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Turtle & Tortoise Society, and a member of the North American Box Turtle Conservation Committee.
