I havent posted in a while, but I have really awesome news. My tourtise is eating more greens, and is so much more active then he usually is. More outside time/tube uvb has helped tremendously including him fixing his eating habits. Now I have only one concern.
I noticed these spots on his shell when I had my old setup with a very strong heat lamp. I figured it was burns from the heat lamp and that's what my vet said.

I'm switching vets btw.
Then, when I asked her if it could be shell rot, ( wasn't smelly, was peeling, but not soft.) She said it was and gave me a solution for it. Its betadine. But I haven't noticed any tremendous change and I'm not sure if it could just be something else that I'm not aware of.

Thanks
Maddy

It's NOT rot. It looks to me like he's scrapped it or rubbed it on something. Stop the betadine, it kills the white blood cells needed for regrowth. Figure out what he's rubbing on....

It's normal wear and tear that one always sees on wildcaught russians. It's old and not in need of any kind of treatment.
