When I first got my Russian pair two years ago, they were wild-caught and ate only plants. I offered them commercial food, and although they didn't want what I consider the best stuff (Mazuri and Zoomed Grassland), they did in time accept the colored stuff (Rep-Cal and T-Rex), which I don't think are as good.

Fortunately, first the female and then the male did eventually start eating Mazuri Tortoise Diet, and now they both eat it with gusto. I'm happy to say that this morning, my female enjoyed eating some Zoomed Grassland as well. The male, as usual, is more reluctant to join the bandwagon, but if history is any indicator, hopefully he'll soon be chowing down on Zoomed Grassland, too. We shall see! :)

Awfully nice to know they are getting a well rounded diet when weeds are in short supply!

My tortoise recently started accepting the forest tortoise pellets also.

I just figured out how to get Waffles to eat it. Soak it well, mix in kale clippings and calcium. The result? Om nom nom!
