How often can I feed this cactus?

So I manage to score this cactus at a reasonable price here in the UK. I was wondering how do I go about feeding it to my yearling hermmans tortoise. Should I remove all the spines? The tortoise table says that this can have a laxative effect on tortoises. If I feed say a couple of thin strips everyday would that be considered to much?

You should remove the spines. I burn or scrape them off. Or if I use my professor I leave the spines on and blend it up fine or into a mush. You can feed it often as you like, but it should be part of a varied diet with as much good foods you can find, not the only food you feed.
