I've been feeding him two pellets on the days where he doesn't eat greens but should I be feeding him more? He's 4.5 inches, looks like this:

You could feed him a little more. However if you have a good more natural varied diet you are already feeding him then more is not really needed.
I only feed it to mine in the winter when there is a lot less natural foods and no grazing being done.

Redfoot and I guess most tortoises will get hooked on Mazuri.
Mine all did.
You'll have to find a happy medium where they also eat all of the other food provided. Mine consists of half the meal twice a week.
Or all of the meal if I run out of other food items.
They get just hibiscus and Mazuri when I'm out of "groceries".
Wet it mash it and store it in the refridgerator. It'll keep for several days.

How much is the Mazuri over there in the states?
I was just looking at a 426g bag (Just over 1lb) on Amazon for £52 ( about $82 )
Is that about right or very expensive?

Whoa, very expensive. From the supplier, a 25lb bag of LS is $44 and regular is $31usd.
Wow - what a difference - probably to do with importing to UK.
I'll stick to the fresh food!
Thanks

I feed 2 pellets to my 4 inch Sheldon. I mix it with chopped spring mix, very seldom will I serve it by itself. I always soak it, he loves it. I give it to him about twice a week.

Just by reading the ingredients you would think that it is garbage. But myself and scores of others have had fantastic results with the stuff!
I'd hate to be without it.
