I have 10 sulcata eggs in the incubator. The first one just pipped the egg. How long does it take from the first pip to actuall hatch out of the egg.

It's different with each egg. I've had some pip and be clear out of the egg in 5 minutes and others who took a couple days.

Thanks. The timing could NOT be worse. We are leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday and I really was hoping they weren't going to hatch until we got back. :-( This is my first hatch and was so looking forward to watching the whole process.
What should I put them on after they hatch and before putting them on my turtle table. I have heard conflicting information in regards to on dirt or paper towels or some other substrate.

I leave mine in the incubator until I'm ready to set up a baby habitat. Once the yolk has totally absorbed I put them into my idea of a closed chamber on small grade orchid bark.
