OK,

I just received 2 MegaRay 100 watt bulbs today and was wondering at what temperature do you keep the basking area for your adult tortoises?

And would you keep the same temperature for hatchling and yearling tortoises?

I don't want to cook them!

It would depend of the specie of tort you have. For example my stars will bask at about 90 to 95 degrees, above they seek cooler area while the spider basks in mid 80's. The redfoots and burmese mountains don't bask to any great degree anyway.

It does depend on the species Patrick, but usually 90 to 110F is good under the basking lamp, the warm end will be less than this. :D
