Horsefield tortoise ?

Hi all,
I have recently changed my tortoises enclosure to a open top one,
But he seems un happy not eating and just in the closed end sleeping
Should I be worried or do you think it could be because of the change of things. We currently had chips down but have now changed to soil. ??

Because tortoises are territorial, it's hard on them when you make changes. Try to set up his new enclosure similar to how it was set up before. You may have to just give him time to adjust to the new space.

Double check that his new area is warm enough. Get one of those point-and-shoot thermometer guns and check the temperature all over the floor of the enclosure to make sure he's warm enough.

Get him out every day and give him a nice, warm soak. then put him back in front of the food. Hopefully he'll come around in a day or so.
