Any changes on Hopie Greg? He sure looks good for all that's going on with him.

* Thank you. There is no improvement on his condition. He seems alert and relishes the sun and being around all the other tortoises!

Hopie had to have his feeding tube removed because of a blockage. He is showing small, however significant signs of improvement. He is schedule for a vet visit in Marathon Key, Fl. with Dr. Mader today.

New feeding tube in place. He seems slightly groggy after anesthesia yesterday.

Glad it wasn't too big/dangerous of an ordeal. So glad there is still improvement. I know the hope is someday he will not have the feeding tube. Is it looking more towards that happening or not:(.

Aldabraman (Greg),

Thanks for sharing Hopie's story. It's inspiring to see such a fighter. It's also wonderful to know you are so dedicated to his care and recovery.
Will keep Hopie's recovery in our thoughts.
Out of curiosity, how big is Hopie? Weight I mean

* It actually does not look good. He is showing no signs of eating on his own.

* Thank you. Here is our thoughts, as long as he seems pain free and happy with a decent quality of life, we will do anything and everything physically and medically possible to keep him going! He seems so happy when he is placed in the natural sunshine and surrounded by all his little cousins, just brings a smile to your face to see that!

* This is an old picture!

Greg, I just got through reading the entire thread on Hopie. I know what you must be feeling. I have a rescue right now who is like Hopie. I'm doing everything I can do for her, as you are doing for Hopie. My heart sinks for a moment; then, it lifts up for a bit when she's out there with her cousins. I'll be with you on this one...step by step, no matter what. You have friends here, and we all love your animals. They are one of the most beautiful creatures in creation, and YOU are its guardian.
