This has probably been asked a million times but I cannot find the answer I'm looking for. I keep finding different answers. I want to grow Hibiscus but am unsure what kind or if it doesn't matter anyways. Ive read tropical, blue (only flowers) but there are so many kinds. These are some of what I was looking at. Please tell me if these are alright. Thank you.

If you live in a warm climate, then you can get the tropical ones and they can stay out all year. But if you live where the winters are cold...like I do in NY...you are better off with the hardy ones. I have some tropical ones, and I take them in every Fall. After a while they usually get bugs, and I have to cut them down and change the soil in their pots...then they're OK for the next Spring. Instead of getting seeds, why don't you go to Home Depot or Lowe's, and get a bigger plant. You could get a Rose of Sharon. They grow very fast, and produce seeds that grow like weeds. I have them growing all over my yard. I you want I could send you some seeds. We just had a big snow storm, so I can't get to the Rose of Sharon tree now, but when the weather clears up, I might have some seeds there, unless they all fell off already.

That would be very nice terry. I'm just used to starting all of my plants from seeds. I usually have a crop of yellow pear tomatoes and sweet banana peppers growing in my hydro set up. I usually also grow cantaloupe, lettuce, lots and lots of tomatoes, artichokes and scallions. Aside from the usual herb garden inside. Flowers on the other hand are something new for me.

I have a big veggie garden too. I'm doing a Lasagna garden this year. You layer newspaper, mulch, and soil in the Fall and then in the Spring it's supposed to have decomposed and you just poke holes in the garden and put your plants in. Something new for me. I did all the layering already, and now just waiting for Spring.
You can PM me your address if you want and I will try to send the seeds...if I ever get out of here. There's my Rose of Sharron...On the left...in the back.
