I’m located in southwest Florida and live on 10 acres. My family and I are super interested in adopting a large tortoise or two. Just joined to find helpful info and if there are people in our area that have any cuties available.

Welcome! Sooooo, you are probably interested in a Sulcata or two or three. Lots of info here on raising them, food, water, housing etc. Make sure that you are searching your local Craigs Lists too.

Welcome! Just keep in mind that tortoises should not be housed as pairs, so if you get two, they most be housed separately. Solo is great, groups can work, but pairs are a bad idea.

If your going to get more than 1 we suggest 3 or more. Never 2.
