@Dipa Do not get too worried over the pyramiding, but use it as an indication you need to make a change. If you change now, the new growth coming in from now on, will smooth out quick on a tortoise this small. The same will be happening with its overall health. You tortoise shows good growth, so its metabolism is working. Any changes you make now should have a great positive effect.

So I would say the pyramiding is a 8. It is quite severe, but again your tortoise is young and growing. That is why I feel a change now will be especially beneficial to this tortoise.

You are doing a great job in you efforts to learn all you can and willingness to find the best for your tortoise. Thank you!!!
Ohh
I tried and still trying..
Its just worrysome
I am just more sensitive about him
I will guve you the pictures tomorrow
Because right now is the night
And i cant take it
Sorry
I will try to keep humidity
But i have to make it muddy type or just sprinkle the water to wet it?
And if i sprinkle the water doesnt the enclosure will become rotted?

It sounds like you are talking about an outdoor enclosure. In captivity, it is very hard to keep a very young tortoise at its best in an outdoor enclosure. Where you live is quite dry this time of year. Much more so than where this tortoise would live in the wild. For out doors, the use of sprinklers to keep things moist is needed, but more importantly - a lot of plants and piles of leaves to hide under and keep that portion moist. Otherwise, everything will just dry out too quickly even if we have mud puddles forming in some parts of the enclosure. Plants and leaf litter area must outdoors.

@Dipa I just went through and read this thread. I know you are reading a lot on the forum and trying to learn all you can. I don't see in this thread where it has been mentioned that your tortoise is pyramiding badly. It is quite extreme for this size of a tortoise. I know you read the post I made about "How to Raise a Healthy Star" and commented there, and we have discussed humidity in other threads with you. However, you really need to make a change. I feel one of the reasons your tortoise is a "picky" eater is that it is just getting by and not really thriving. It needs humidity. Your tortoise needs and enclosure where it can stay warm and humid. It needs places it can rest and sleep where it is warm and humid and secure - pushed under an overhanging plant. Or buried beneath some leaf litter.

The pyramiding tells me it is being kept way too dry and that also means that is stressing the tortoise on the inside too. I think you are working on a proper enclosure. Please make that change as soon as possible.
yeah what @Markw84 said is ri8
it needs a good enclosure to live
and it needs humidity
most imp a good enclosure

it needs basking lights
if kept indoors
if kept outdoors
u dnt need any
but plz do soaj him in warm water
as it is summer here in india
and the temps raise to a very large extent

soaking him keeps him well hydrated

I am not talking about outdoor
Sorry if u misunderstood the sprinkle
Imeans sprinkle not sprinklers
So the question is i have to make it really muddy or just wet it by some water?
I have coco coir but it doesnt stay wet for long time or as if i i dont know
Do i have to mix something with coco coir or just the coco coir is enough?

When we can see a picture of your enclosure We can make some good suggestions. It sounds like it is not a closed enclosure. If the enclosure is not enclosed enough, all the warm and humid air will constantly be drawn out. No amount of sprinkling water will be enough.

I look forward to your pictures in the morning.

can we plz know where u keep these torts?
do u keep them in any box filled with mud?
if so jus sprikle the water lightly
which will actually make him active
as they do in forests too whn it rains

It is one kind of box
There is no mud but i just wet the substrate lightly
Not much but if the humidity have to rise
I can sprinkle more water

Post a picture of what you are working with and we can go from there with suggestions. Your coco coir should work. We just need to stop it from drying out quickly. YOu also should add some plants that create overhanging parts and some leaf litter. That will help a lot.

That dish is fine if you shink it in the substrate. But your Tortoise needs to fit in it. So he can self soak.
