I have had a few people tell me that the coiled Uvb light can cause a baby sulcata to become sick ( mine is )and can cause problems. What is the best uvb bulb for me to use to give him natural sunlight

The coil bulbs causes eye problems. If your baby is sick in any other way, other then eye problems, then it's not the bulb, but the coil bulb still needs to go. The mercury vapor bulbs are favored for sulcatas.

I was using the coiled bulb for my baby sulcata and was informed that it isn't good for his eyes to I took it out. What is the best bulb for natural sunlight UVB for my sulcata besides the halogen that will go in the same fixture without having to put a strip fixture in the enclosure? Thanks in advance!!

Mercury vapor bulb. UVA, UVB, light, heat, all in one.

Your options are pretty limited. Mercury vapor bulbs and strip lights are about all there is, other than the potentially harmful coil types. MVBs run pretty hot and its difficult to use them in the style of enclosure that a baby sulcata needs to be in. Strip lights are your best option in most cases, but be sure to get the type that will best fit your needs.

Here is another alternative: If you live somewhere warm and your tortoise can get outside for real sunshine for most of the year, you don't need and indoor UV at all. Just heat lamps.

This and more is all explained right here:

Im confused, in your best way to raise a sulcata guide you specifically say "dont use spot bulbs, reptile specialty bulbs, halogen bulbs, any cfl, or mercury vapor bulbs. You want plain old, regular incandescent flood bulb" but here you say mercury vapor bulbs... I just want to do it right...

Look at the date of that post. We've learned a lot in the last five years. The current care sheets reflects the updated info.
