Please give us pictures of your tortoise and enclosure.

There is no way to hold humidity in an open enclosure, which is likely what you have.

Where is it reading 88? Under the basking spot, ambient, warm side, etc? You need the entire enclosure to be no less than 80, with a 95-100 degree basking spot.

It’s probably just scared because you got it yesterday. Give it some time.

Also should I leave the basking and ceramic heater on at night or just the heater?

Just the ceramic heat emitter. Tortoises should never have any lights on at night, including the red light you have. Those should never be used. They can see them and the color at night, it causes them to eat their substrate, and just makes them very confused in general.

I just saw your pic on your other thread. You should try to stick with one thread for questions, so things aren’t repeated over and over.

Some people build a sort of greenhouse to keep in humidity. That is what @TechnoCheese has done for her little one.

I made a structure like that for my enclosure to house the heat lamps-IMG_0122.jpg
You can make the frame out of almost any material, and a heavy-medium duty shower curtain.

I have a 100 with a dial on the fixture to adjust the heat. I also have a 60 but when I kept Opo inside for the winter it didn't quite do the job.
