Just had my two leopards out to give them a soak and snapped these pics.

I posted a picture of the one on the right (in my left hand) last year and most of the gueses were that he was a male. Which turns out to be true as I got a clear visual of his male parts one fine day... scared the crap out of me until I figured out what it was!!

The one on the left is the one I am wondering about now. Im guessing/ hoping that she is a female. Just comparing the two tails, his is very long and slender where as the other one is short and stubby. The shape of the shells is also different, hers being wider then his. Of course I have no experience with sexing leopards so Im afraid hope might be clouding my judgement.

Let me know what you think... or is it still to early to tell? Shes around 4 years old now?? Ill have to double check my records on that but it sounds right.

If you take a look at the scutes on either side of the tail (the anal scutes) and notice how the male's anal scutes look like a handle bar mustache? If you'll notice those same scutes on the other tortoise, you'll see that they DON'T look like a handle bar mustache, but rather a soft "V"

Even though the cloaca seems a little far from the body, I'm guessing you have a true pair.

I'd say female but the anal scutes don't go that way. Captive raised Leopards are really difficult to sex that small.

Up to over 100lbs but the healthy average for cb raised animals is about 25 to 40 lbs. ... it also depends on the race.

Again... tail says female... morphology says male.

How big do Leopards get? Because they seem pretty heft sized to me.

I would say in my experience that the one on the left is def a female and the one on the right is a male. Some people say though that they would never say 100 % female until they saw eggs, but that's what it looks like to me.
