I looked down and he/she had a round pink blob that looked like a prolapse out from under the tail. it did go back in, but Ive never seen that before, and there was a pee spot left behind. I am undecided on the sex, but Willard is about 2 years old and seems to have a pink penis that sticks out when straining to flip himself back over, but people have guessed female on here after pictures of this as well.

do we know what causes prolapse? is there something Im doing wrong?

Well,"she's" a HE, and what you saw was the tip of the penis. When males reach what in human boys would be adolescence they discover their penis and it comes out frequently. Once they get used to the idea, they basically leave it alone. The only time you have to worry about it is if comes out and doesn't go back in. Then you would keep it moist and we'll help you at that time.
