One of my babies recently developed a growth on the head and leg. Very sudden. I'm the only handler and luckily he is the only one inflicted at this time. Before I attempt to treat I wanted to reach out to the TortoiseForum family. His 77731B76-79D5-4FBE-A6F1-FA733D14D009_1_201_a.jpegEE1EA4C8-3278-40FA-96A4-674EAB788BB7_1_201_a.jpegappetitie is good, but I want to get it under control. I've successfully treated respiratory issues but never anything like this. Pictures to follow.

This is something we're seeing a lot here on the forum just recently if it's the same thing. So far it's only been with Sulcatas. Not sure what's going on with it yet. I think @mastershake has a specialist that is looking into this. Check out these threads

To be on the safe side, I would suggest isolating this little one and using biosecurity protocols as if you were dealing with a potentially contagious disease. It might not be, but then again...

Have you read any of the threads on the hatchling sulcatas with yellow bumps on them? Most of them are in the Tortoise Health section within the last couple months. I see @Toddrickfl1 already linked to a couple of them.

I just read them. He has never been on a substrate. I use clean paper towels after every daily soaks for my babies. Of course with their food and water. So far, his appetite is good. I don't think it looks like a fungus. The 2 spots almost look like accesses that need drained. I did isolate him 2 days go.

Thank you everyone! I will keep reading and keep you posted. All recommendations are welcomed!

The contagious disease in baby sulcatas right now is bacterial, not fungal. At least some of them have looked like abscesses.

Glad to hear you've already isolated him. It's probably not a bad idea to get this one tested. It would be helpful to know, whether it's related or not.

sorry for the late reply. this does not look like any of the spots we have seen yet. this is MUCH larger and looks more firm like then what we have been seeing on the sulcata. are these bumps hard? i would def recc letting a vet take a sample and get it to a lab. from first look these almost look to be an abscess of some sort if this is the same as what we have been seeing on the sulcata it NEEDS anti biotics to resolve. and yes what we have been seeing is a bacterial infection.

one more thing i forgot to add is 100% keep this animal separated from the rest and clean your hands if or when you touch them with an ammonia based soap. you can tell if they are ammonia base by them saying do not mix with bleach on the back. palmolive liquid from wal mart is a good one. ammonia kills even more then bleach does and is good practice. i do recc wearing gloves when handling this one though EVERY time until you can get a better idea of what this is. where are you are located in florida? i could def give a better idea if i could physically see these bumps
