i bought 3 reptisun fluorescent bulbs but didn't know if i had to use to fixture designed for it. figured they just wanted more money. is this true? will a fluorescent fixture from lowe's or another hardware store not allow the bulb to produce the uvb rays? i really don't want to spend another 120$ just for the fixtures!!

Any fixture should do fine. The only thing nice about the ones made specifically for the reptiles and even aquariums is that they have reflectors on them that help them get even more UVB, but I'm sure the ones you can get at hardware stores do to. Just make sure to get an electronic ballast T8 fixture, and you're good to go.
