I'm new here so thought I'd give a quick introduction :)

I live in the North East of England and have 2 horsefields (George and Mildred) that I adopted in October 2011. They're previous owners didn't want them anymore and had them in a small glass tank; they are now very happily living in a large tortoise table.

I was told that George was 4 years old and Mildred 6 when they came to live with me. I think I might have to separate them as George won't leave Mildred alone(!) - other than either separating them or perhaps getting another female does anyone have any other suggestions? Poor Mildred never gets a moments peace :(

Looking forward to getting to know some other tort lovers :)

Hi Jackie welcome! How large is there enclosure? Does it have lots of visual barriers for the tortoises? Those barriers are helpful in allowing the "picked" on tortoise time to get away and be by itself. :tort:

Thank you for your reply. There enclosure is around 8 feet long x 3 feet wide with a large covered 'hide' although this is their dark area and she only seems to like going in there at night time to sleep. I really don't know what to do and he is getting quite aggressive now too :(

It's best to separate them before he hurts her or you need three females to your one male

Hi and welcome. It looks like you need to separate them if putting some barriers not working, cause I think you have big enough enclosure to accommodate 2 RT.
