hello!
I teach middle and high school science in a tiny, rural school in northern Wisconsin. We have just 250 students in 4K-12.
We have an adult Russian Tortoise, plus some other critters that all of the kids love to observe and care for.
We are interested in adopting another tortoise, so if anyone has one needing a good home, my students would be grateful to help out!

Welcome to the forum!
Are you aware that a Russian tortoise requires a minimum enclosure size of 8x4 feet?

Also keep in mind that the new tortoise will not be able to live with your existing one. Russians are solitary, and very territorial.

We would love to see pictures of your tortoise and enclosure :)

Yes, of course. By training I have a PhD focusing on snake ecology. I have extensive experience working with reptiles and amphibians. The students just love the tortoise so having another of a different species would further open their eyes to diversity and conservation needs.
Thanks for the tips!
