Glad you are enjoying your new friend. However, that reptile carpet, well he's not enjoying that. Please get him on some more natural substrate like dirt or coconut coir. Russians like to dig, he would really like to be able to do that.

He has a hide box with coconut coir in it .....every day around 4pm he diggs in fir the night and sleeps till the am
That's good, but he should have the coir all over. That carpet should not be used for them or in my opinion most any reptile. He will enjoy the coir all over much more.
