Heat lamps and temp

Hello,

I just got my first tortoise and I have some questions as far as temps and heat lamps go. I have had snakes and iguanas in the past but this is my first tortoise. I have read some things about heat lamps and temps and got in mixed reviews on them. Is a ceramic heat lamp better then a regular heat lamp? And what’s the best temp? Currently his enclosure is 80deg and Humidity is at 50%. I shut all the lights off at night. I just want the best for my little guy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have always wanted a tortoise and I’m in a place now where I can. When we moved 10 years ago I had to re-home my iguana which sucked way more then I thought it would. Now we own our own home with a plenty of space inside and out.
