I have a uvb bulb and a heat bulb, the problem is that the uvb bulb does not produce heat, so I thought that the heat bulb would be better, but I know that the turtle needs uvb. Which one do I use guys?
If so, you may not see a musk turtle bask much at all. Some do, but most don't. I always do provide a basking dock with both a heat (incandescent) bulb and a UVB bulb. I keep the UVB bulb so it also extends over the water area where there are plants (fake, plastic) that the turtles like to hang in and "float" bask. UVB does penetrate water quite well, so I like to have a UVB zone set up that way for them. I use the Arcadia pro T5 12" which is 7% bulb over my baby aquatics.
