I bought two of these to try with my Chameleons.
They are supposed to provide UVA, UVB and heat with light.
They are 80 watts each.
They are over $30 each.

These will not be used with my tortoises.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Ya the ones I have used have burnt out before that as well
The zoomed version lasts longer though
I complained about them being over $30 each....
They're $50 each at the store across the street from my house.
If I like the way these perform, I'll consider Zoomed next.

I'm making a new post about these bulbs.
If you read the reviews....most say how much they like these.
A few say that right out of the box, they didn't work. Or they stopped working after they were moved.
I think I've found the answer to both of these issues:
When you turn them on, they either glow a little or do nothing at all visually.....(as they heat up)
Mine took almost 6 minutes to fire up and act correctly. It did nothing visually. MORE than enough time for someone unfamiliar with MERCURY VAPOR bulbs to turn the fixture back off and go fishing through the garbage can for the receipt!
The second bulb lit up very faintly. Went out and then came back on and built up intensity over a period of 4 to 5 minutes.
Now. MERCURY VAPOR bulbs are hot. They have ballasts built in and they are hot. You should not move, wiggle or jostle one of these while they are turned on or for 20 to 30 minutes after they have been turned off. It may damage the internal wizardry of the bulb.
These do not act like standard, incandescent bulbs.

I've got 2 of these that I'm just using for light now. I'm sure they're not putting out uvb anymore because I've had them almost 2 years, and they still work.

I'll swap them at 6 months.
And these Chameleons are going to be outdoors a lot.
I'm hoping Santa brings me a UV meter.
