Ok it's 2:30 am but I just though of something. Can we hang the greens for our tortoises? So they reach up like they would in nature? On like clothes pins?

As long as the tortoise can reach them, why not?

Works well, I do this often because like you said it's a bit natural and uses different muscles then normal ground feeding does. I also grow things in pots to hang down/over for the same purpose. :)

That is a good idea. In the summer enclosure my torts will reach up and eat leaves of grapes, hibiscus, daylilies (last two planted outside walls). By mid summer there is definite browse line whereupon they will ride the plant down to eat. This a natural behavior and as such should be duplicated inside.
