So we got a sulcata hatchling for my daughter birthday present (of course dad and I are both on board with caring for the little guy)
Obviously shes a kid and its a cute baby so shes going to want to hold it from time to time. Is this a huge no no? Can she pick it up and let it wonder?
I take every precaution to ensure it wont get injured or eat something it shohldnt. I just want to make sure that holding the little guy isnt bad for its health.

Greetings. Picking up and holding is perfectly fine, & your tortoise will become very accustomed to being handled. Letting it wander about is a different issue.....and this is how/when cute little babies go missing. Wandering about in a good, well-secured enclosure is great — outside in the garden a recipe for disaster. Only takes a few mins then gone.

Best of luck.
