Hey guys Im new but have used this website alot but last march I had purchased two baby sulcata toroises they were too young to identify male or female so we assumed males my cousin has one and he has the hook on his tail and is already outgrown a 10G tank. Mine has a 29 G and is still the same size as when I got it maybe a tiny bit bigger. Im not sure if fenale tortoises take longer to grow or if I need a different light or even if I should be worried since its been almost a year.

Welcome to the forum!

Can you share pictures of the tortoises and enclosures, as well as temperatures and humidity? This sounds like it may be caused by a husbandry issue. Your tortoise should be much larger by now, regardless of sex.

10 and 29 gallon tanks are much too small. Hatchlings of these species should be kept in no less than 40 gallon (36x18 inch) tanks, which should only last a few months.
