I have been perusing the various supply houses, and have found seed mixes available.

Do any of you here grow food from these. Our Greek lives in the greenhouse, soI though it appropriate to grow something for him right in his own back yard.

Any thoughts as to which mixes are best?

Is Chia seed ok? I have that at hand, since I eat chia every day.

Chia is fine but a variety is what you want to shoot for. Mix in a little red clover some Plantain (the weed not the banana) Dandelions, some Curly Endive (frizee) (mine love that) some hibiscus leaves and flowers. Oh with a green house there are soooooo many things you could grow for him. Just know Greeks are not a fan of grasses as their systems can not digest the silica in the grasses.
So here are some of the things I grow for my Greeks that they love: ( in no particular order)
Mallow
wandering jew
Rose-leaves and flowers
hibiscus -leaves and flowers
geraniums-leaves and flowers
strawberries-leaves and flowers fruit rarely if at all
cactus
dandelion
squash-blossoms, leaves and fruit
I just put in some boysenberry vines - they love the leaves\
Grape leaves
sunflowers
sea Dahlia
aloe
duckweed
yew
yarrow
california poppy
jade plant
hens and chicks
Sword Fern/Boston Fern
Kalanchoe
Oh and I just got a butterfly bush, banana tree and a lobelia (sp?)
Most of my plants are grown in pots and sometimes it is difficult to harden them and keep the watered and alive in this hot CA weather but so far we are doing OK. Hope this gives you some ideas.
