Good Plants, & Outdoor Habitats Ideas?!?!

Hi, I was wondering what are some good ideas for building a outdoor habitat for my 6 years old African Spur-Thigh Tortoise?! I live in East Texas, and he will be coming to live with me in June, from Florida!
I would love to plant Hibiscus, & some other plants in his area!
I have a yard with 2 basset hounds, so i know it will have to be in a part of my yard where the dogs aren't able to get to it. Any Feedbacks would be great!!

Both of these threads have lists of items that would be good to grow. If you plant a mulberry tree, try to get the fruitless kind.
