What kind of fruit, if any, can I give to a baby Leopard Tortoise? He's about a month and two weeks and growing!

No fruit. A prickly pear fruit can be given to leopards very rarely. I would not give it too one that young.

I get mine at a local polish produce store. That's the only place I have seen it. They only have it a certain time of year, for a while though. I can never remember when that is though.

Stay far away from fruits when they are young, is probably best. They have not built up gut flora and the sugars in fruit could disrupt their digestive system which means they could have a "bloom" of all the wrong things. Not an expert, just from what I understand and have read to be happening in tortoise tummies. I often wonder if when little babies die suddenly, out of nowhere, if perhaps that is what has happened. The right bacteria in the stomach seems to be critical to tortoise thriving. Hopefully experts will give their opinions soon. : )

Thats an interesting thought. A lot of forum/Tort newbs will post about feeding fruit. Not really sure if any of the ones that lost hatchlings ever did or not. You should post that question on the "Advanced tortoise topics section". Would be interesting to see what comes out of it.
