I have a chronic problem with fruit flies in my tortoise house. Does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this. I've tried most "conventional" approaches. Has anyone ever hung a bug zapper indoors for such a thing? Is that even safe?

Put some white vinegar in a bowl or deli cups. They can't resist it and drown themselves. Works quite well. Churn the soil in. The enclosures too. They love moist thick soil in the pens. Can also add some fly strips(the sticky glue ones that hang down) won't ever be Able to get rid of all of them. But in large collections like mine and yours it will help a lot.
