Erik, I built that pen a about 4 years ago with one of my guys over a weekend when my husband was out of town it is 4x4 pressure treated post, I used sack concrete in the holes and just put the hose in there to activate it. 2x12 (or 2x10) pressure treated along the bottom and hog pannels on top of that, and topped with a 2x4 pressure treated board. All my post. It was pretty easy to do, I used 2 gates to from the livestock store and attached 2x12 to the bottom to help him not see outThe fence looks good. Is it all don’t with common materials? Cost not too bad?
The plastic is cut into the 3 ft door and the plastic is dogggie door replacement flaps that are double lined one set out side one inside and we have a plywood insert to lock him in or keep it warmer when it’s cold. I was going to use a doggie door but quickly realized they aren’t big enough so I used two side by side to get it wide enough but wanted to keep it warmer so I put two on the out side and two on the inside. If you look at my older post I had my dad build one of toms boxes with rubber flaps over the door entrance, but with his growth I wanted to feed hay in the winter and for me that means I have to feed in his house and I didn’t feel safe doing that in an area that smallDo you have another door besides the plastic flaps?
Love the idea with the liner and top soil. Will you mist it to keep the dust down during the winter? Or just let it be?So the inside is still a work in progress! Still need an electrician to give me a few more plugs so I can get cords tucked away better, and another shelf put up for my temperature alarm and temp gun. Also the dog house with straw is new for him and I don’t know if he will use it or like it. We lined the bottom and up the sides with a pond liner and put organic top soil on top of that. Still messing with temperatures last night was our first and we didn’t have it warm enough so turned up the heater and added another heat lampView attachment 220445 View attachment 220446 View attachment 220447 View attachment 220448 View attachment 220449
