Found Tortoise in North FL

Can anyone identify this little guy found by one of my sons coworkers? He is in Tallahassee FL

That's a box turtle. Native to your area. It should be released close to where it was found.

Make sure it's near where it was found. They have a very small range and if taken somewhere else and released it'll try to get back to the area it was found.

Wow it doesn't look like a Fl boxie. Maybe gulf coast? @Yvonne G ? But whatever it is, it is native so letting it go is a good idea.

Box turtles found in the Tallahassee area are going to be Gulf Coast box turtles.
