I could have stepped on this when I was bringing everyone in today. I found it right as I was picking one up. Probably not fertile because it was laid above ground but I am getting a nice little collection of unmatched eggs.

Don't tell my wife but once they hatch and I sell them I am just going to buy a s#!t load more tortoises. I promised myself that I would first gift myself a Traeger smoker grill as a gift, as an award once I was successful in breeding. However, now I just want to improve my enclosures instead! Wish me luck everyone!!!

How mush dose your female weigh? I just ask because I’m impatiently waiting for mine to get big enough haha

I am pretty new to this, so my data is not going to be as relevant as the data from many others. My largest and oldest adult female laid eggs for the first time at around 1300 grams. She laid again this year at 1600 grams. The other female, who I believe laid the one pictured here, based on the shape of her cloaca before and after, she weighs 900 grams, which is on the lighter end of the spectrum. She is also only about 6.5 inches scl. That weight is what I have read to be the minimum weight to begin laying. The egg had a hairline crack and none of the eggs laid have been fertile yet.
