My Russian had a small piece of scute flake off yesterday.
The area underneath is hard.
Addy was found in the street. We've had her eight months, during three of those she hibernated in our garden while we were trying to find an owner. She was fairly dry when she came out; from what I recall that's how she was when we found her.
That area has looked a bit rough to me for a while but I've generally ignored it. She had the normal amount of dings one expects with wild caught Russians. Our vet saw no issues during her check up.
She's kept outdoors. We have very mild weather and humidity is generally pretty high (it's seventy percent right now). She gets soaked twice a week now that it's warm.
It's probably nothing to worry about, right?
