My baby Sulcata will not eat cactus. I have tried chopping slicing he will turn his little nose up to it. Well he loves the Muzuri diet I give him a couple times a week with seed mixture I grow for him. Today I soaked his Muzuri and used a potato slicer and sliced the cactus very thin then chopped it and mixed it in. He is eating it up.
I got him in November 2013 I wish I would have weighed him he has really grown. Well just sharing my little trick I will add pictures soon.

Tortoises are creatures of habit. They will often not try new things because they don't recognize it as food. If the breeder you got yours from didn't offer some cactus pads from time to time, it can take a long time for them to get used to new foods. Sometimes they will need to see a new food for months before they will eat it.

Glad you have had success already. :)

Sometimes you just have to trick 'em into trying new foods. I wrapped slices of cactus with radicchio to to get my sulcata to try it. Now cactus pads are among his favorite foods.
