Female tortoises seem like they’re mating?

They do both look kind of similar and have big thick tails, like they are males...?

Some species of tortoise have males with flat plastrons, so the length of the tail is a more accurate indicator. The Russian Tortoise is a perfect example.

Thank you very much for that info, SweetGreek! You’re making me wonder if my sweet little girl is a boy! Her tail is rather long for a DT.

But the plastron looks so flat. I thought that was a better clue than tail length. More info please Yvonne.
The males of the testudo species don't develop a concave plastron.
