Hey guys! I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions in regards to feeding Testudo Hermanni live insects.

I know protein doesn’t constitute a large proportion of their diet, but I am looking to expose him to some live food for some new stimulation.

Are there any recommendations you can give about which insect/amount to give, if any at all. Thanks!

For food stimulation some people put their food in a ball with holes. So they have to reach their head in to get a bite and then it kinda rolls away.

Some people hang leaves with clothing line clips so they have to climb up to reach their food.

Some people move food to different locations within the enclosure.

Those are different ways for stimulation other than buggies! I mean you do you, but I rather avoid bugs. [emoji173][emoji173]

If they find a bug in their yard and eat it, all well and good, but I'm not going to purposely give them an insect when they're not insect-eating tortoises.
