HOLY CRAP. How in the world did that poor cherry survive off just bugs?! He looks a little too good for having been in such horrible conditions for so long. Mind blowing for sure!

These stories pop up every few years. "Tortoise found in closet after 25", "Turtle found alive under house foundation 30 years later". They're all impossible. No living animal can survive that long under those conditions-period. They're urban legend stories that may be based on an actual event, like maybe the tortoise got locked in the closet overnight or for a few days and they couldn't find it. The more the story is told, the more it grows, eventually it becomes ridiculously outlandish. Just because it's on the internet, or even in the paper for that matter, doesn't make it true!
