So our eggs are now 2 weeks. The first week we had them in a closet then got an incubator made and they have been in that for about a week. I tried to candle them but just not sure what I am looking for or the time frame in which I should see if they are fertile? I would love to get an idea what a fertile egg looks like verses an infertile egg. I searched but can't seem to find a comparison.

These are for dessert tortoises. We have a large female and two young ones in which we are not sure if they are male or female or even old enough to be mature enough to mate. One is 7 and the other is 9.

Thank you in advance for any help!!!

I have no real experience yet, but think it is too soon to know. Candle them again in 3 weeks and look for changes. A dark spot develops and eventually, if good, you can see veins.
Good luck.
