So last night, I had a headache when I came home from work, and coupled with the typical stress of helping the wife with getting everything ready for the holidays, I forgot to do my evening check of the pens outside and put the redfoot tortoises in their heated shed. This morning I went outside, and found my adult male still outside in 32'F weather. Apparently, he did not make it the shed on his own. He was stiff and motionless. I brought him inside and trying to warm him up in my inside juvenile pen which has a CHE. But that was 2 hrs ago and still no sign of life. Praying for a Christmas miracle. :(

:( I hope you can rescue your RF. So sad. This kind of stuff breaks my heart. I hope you don't feel guilty at all, its totally understandable, we all know you didn't do this is on purpose. Mistakes happen. We are all human. Its a valuable lesson to learn, and its help us prevent these things in the future. There is still a chance that your tort is with us, and if he isn't, it was just his time to go. Good luck, you and your tort will be in out prayers. And Merry Christmas. Dont let this type of thing keep you from enjoying your holidays. :( best of Luck!!!!!

That is so sad and a simple human mistake.
A special prayer going out to you and your guy.

Don't try to warm him up too quickly. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

No matter the outcome, stop beating yourself up. Things happen, mistakes are made, accidents happen. *fingers crossed* for your miracle. So sorry this happened to you, especially at this time of year. :(

Oh man, how totally scary and a crazy 3 hours you just had, with your little snowman tortoise.
Thank goodness for still alive! Happy! Now comes the watch like a hawk part, to be sure all is truly alright.
