Why aren't any of my box turtles hibernating. I live in Louisiana so it's not extremely cold yet but it's cold enough for them to start doing what they do isn't it? Should I take them inside every night since they're not protecting themselves from the cold?

My box turtles are not dug down deep yet either, and we've had two nights of frost. When they're ready, they'll go down.

Althought, depending on the age of your box turtle, they wont hibernate. If their under 6 years old, they wont hibernate at all. So it is a smart idea to start bringing them inside dueing the night.
