do i need a seperate heat/uva lamp

the bulb i have is a 100w Sun Glo basking spot lamp with uva. is this ok or do i need seperate lights for heat and uva? the brand is exo terra.

I think what you want is UVB, not UVA.

I think the one you got is for the dragons or frogs. Tortoises need both UVA and UVB. UVB is more important.

The only one I have experience with is the T-Rex 100 watt Active UV/Heat bulb. I am completely happy with it. I use only this during the day, then at night I use a black incandescent bulb (in winter).

I use the exo terra sloar glo 125 watt, it has both uvb and uva. I would recommend the mega ray bulb, but they have been on back order forever.

I use Exo Terra Solar Glo mercury bulb at 125w this as both uvb and uva its great i use to have a seperate heat lamp and then a tube light but Mercury bulbs do both and last longer too and they seem to be really popular with other Tort owners so when i made her a tort table i swapped to one
