Hi everyone... thanks for the wonderful comments and wishes for Dixie. She did start eating (after 8 days with no food).... and was doing really well.

But today, she is having trouble going to the toilet.... her bum is "open" and she seems constipated.... what can I do?

Thanks folks... but it was a little worse than that. I rushed her to the vet just after posting my topic. For those who know me "rush to the vet" is a 226 km each way (almost 500km return) trip. We were there for 4 hours and they had to sedate her to clear a large "lump" from her. It took 4 people and almost 2 hours to do.

I didn't sleep at all last night, and she didn't move all night.

Today she is a little more active and is doing better. She has a very swollen bottom and it a little testy when touched.

The doctor has prescribed 1ml of antibiotics daily for 5 days to avoid infection from the extraction.

Hopefully she will be fine.

*** (At least I now have a solid confirmation she is SHE!!!! - Been guessing for 4 years!)***

Get well wishes your way! I'd be on the same boat if it were me.
